As part of the Transition Year, the whole year have a double class of Information Technology three times a week. In IT all of the students are taught how to use basic computer programmes like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel. We are also taught how to store Files and use Databases.
The ECDL modules are:
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Databases
- Microsoft PowerPoint
- File Management
- Internet
- Theory
For each Module all students are required to complete various assignments which cover all aspects of each module.There are tests at the end of the assignments on each module which asses each student individually on their skills on the
programmes.
These tests or “assessments” are conducted by www.ICS-Skills.net All students are signed up and have an account which keeps a record of their assessments and scores on the modules.The pass rate for all modules is 75%.
Before the official test there is a diagnostics test or mock” test which allows students get used to the type of questions that would be asked and see the score they get to make sure they are confident in doing the official test.
